THE COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE – HELICOPTER:
For individuals who are looking to make a career out of flying in the aviation industry.
Great Lakes Helicopter is pleased to announce that we are "registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005". Diploma issued upon completion of Commercial Pilot-Helicopter program.
Prerequisites:
- An applicant must be a Canadian Citizen, landed immigrant, or a person lawfully admitted to Canada for flight training.
- An applicant may commence flight training at any age, but must be 14 years of age prior to first solo, and 18 years of age for the issue of a Commercial Licence-Helicopter.
- Prior to first solo, an applicant must successfully complete a medical examination by a Transport Canada approved medical doctor.

| Privileges |
A) The holder of a Commercial Pilot Licence-Helicopter may exercise the privileges of a Private Helicopter Licence; and B) For the purpose of providing a Commercial Air Service,
i) Act as Pilot in Command of a helicopter for which the licence is endorsed, that is not required to be operated by more than one pilot ii) Act as Co-pilot of a helicopter of any type for which the licence is endorse |

80 hrs of ground school Pass 100-question multiple-choice exam obtaining at least 60% in each of 4 subject areas as well as 60% in the overall exam. (CPHEL) |
| Experience |
Minimum 100hrs total helicopter time; with minimum 55 hrs dual flight time including 10 hrs (5 hrs may be simulator) of instrument time and 5 hrs of cross-country flight time. Minimum 35 hrs solo flight time-including 10 hrs of cross-country flight time with 1 cross-country flight of not less than 2 hrs flight time from the point of departure and 3 full stop landings at points other than the point of departure. |
